Hi,👋 I‘m Julian and I work as an investigative data reporter for SRF Data, the datajournalism team of german-speaking Swiss Public Broadcast.

We are a small team of three to four members, so we try to focus on stories that are unique in both the approach of our research and the form of storytelling – with awardwinning results. We mostly publish in german, but occasionally our work gets translated*. Here are some examples of our work:

• * We investigated the global databroker and adtech industry and uncovered which apps share or sell their users location.
• * We track climate issues in Switzerland in an automated way and on a daily basis.
  
• * We've used a Gaming Algorithm to prove unfair behaviour in Swiss national sport Schwingen.
• * We analyzed a ton of data to prove that Roger Federer really is the GOAT.
• * We've produced an in-depth investigative podcast on climate compensation (carbon offsetting) and its biggest player, the Swiss company South Pole.
• * We've aggregated evidence to find the underlying reasons for the biggest worries of the Swiss.
• * We've used facial recognition software to prove, how easy it is to build a surveillance-machine.

Our team is known for its strong approach in transparency and reproducibility, that's why you‘ll find a lot of our code and data on our Github page.
